Sarah + Doug | Sunset Engagement Session

Blog 1.jpg

All couples have the option to choose their own locations for engagement portraits, but I definitely don't require it. However, when it was time to plan Sarah and Doug's session, they knew exactly where they wanted to go, and the day that happened to work with everyone's schedule was exactly a year prior to their wedding date! While it wasn't intentional, I was so honored to spend the day with them!

Our location was a beautiful nature trail in Afton where the two frequented, and we wrapped up the day atop the Blue Ridge Parkway at sunset. The weather was perfect and the day was so comfortable and fun. As we wrapped up our session, everyone's emotions were heightened over the amazing weather and the special reminder that on this day in one year, Sarah and Doug will finally be married!

I LOVE these portraits because this was the first time I actually met Sarah and Doug after communicating with them for months. The light was so warm and the two of them were so comfortable cuddling for all of our pictures! Next week I'll be sharing my favorites from their wedding day, but until then I hope you smile along with all of us as you relive this special time in their lives.
